Tara Norris created history on 5 March 2023. She became the first bowler to take a five-wicket haul in WPL. The American left-arm pacer achieved this feat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Norris bowled her full quota of 4 overs. She took 5 wickets while conceding only 29 runs. Her economy rate was 7.25. This performance came in just the second match of the inaugural WPL season.

Her first victim was the dangerous Beth Mooney, who was scoring at nearly 12 runs per over. Patil trapped her lbw for 27 in the fifth over, breaking a promising start for the Giants.
