Rishabh Pant has begun his IPL 2026 preparation alongside one of India’s greatest match-winners. The Lucknow Super Giants skipper was recently spotted training with former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.
In fact, LSG posted pictures of the duo on social media with a teasing caption that read “IPL 2026, get ready.” Naturally, fans quickly took notice.
What Happened In The Training Sessions
The two spent time working on Pant’s batting game during the net sessions. Moreover, they had detailed conversations about his approach at the crease. This training stint holds extra importance for Pant.

In January, a side strain injury hit him during practice. As a result, he missed the home ODI series against New Zealand. He also stayed away from the T20 World Cup 2026 on Indian soil. Now, with the IPL starting on March 28, Pant has a short window to find his rhythm again.
Why Yuvraj’s Guidance Matters
Yuvraj brings enormous value to these sessions. The 2011 World Cup hero retired in June 2019. However, he still knows what it takes to dominate bowlers as a left-hander. Before the World Cup, he also worked closely with Sanju Samson. His ability to connect with younger players makes him a trusted figure in Indian cricket.
Big Changes In The LSG Camp
Meanwhile, LSG have shaken up their backroom staff this season. Justin Langer continues as head coach. However, the franchise let go of mentor Zaheer Khan after just one year. Now, Bharat Arun handles bowling duties. In addition, Carl Crowe looks after the spinners, and Kane Williamson serves as a strategic advisor. Because of Yuvraj’s presence in the nets, talk about him joining LSG officially has grown louder.
Pant carries the weight of being the costliest player in IPL auction history at INR 27 crore. After an inconsistent run last season, he will want to silence doubters. Ultimately, his goal is to guide LSG toward a strong campaign this year.
