1. Shafali Verma & Meg Lanning – 162 Runs

Individual Scores: Shafali Verma 84 (45 balls) | Meg Lanning 72 (43 balls)

Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning own the record for the most significant partnership in WPL history—162 runs for the first wicket. They pulled this off against RCB Women on March 5, 2023, at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Shafali went all out, hammering 10 fours and four sixes on her way to a blistering 84. Lanning, calm as ever, added a steady 72 with 14 boundaries. Together, they piled up those 162 runs in just 87 balls and set Delhi Capitals up perfectly to finish at 223 for 2. With the help of this, DC won by 60 Runs Against RCB.

2. Shafali Verma & Jess Jonassen – 146* Runs

Individual Scores: Shafali Verma 80* (43 balls) | Jess Jonassen 61* (38 balls)

Shafali Verma shows up again at number two. This time, she paired up with Jess Jonassen from Australia, and together they piled on 146 runs without getting out. It happened on March 1, 2025, in Bengaluru against RCB Women.

Shafali hammered eight 4s and four 6s, finishing unbeaten on 80. Jonassen stayed right there with her, hitting nine fours and a six for her 61 not out. They did all this in just 77 balls, making DC’s chase of 148 look almost effortless. In the end, DC Women won by 9 wickets (with 27 balls remaining), and Shefali Verma was the Player of the Match.

3. Laura Wolvaardt & Beth Mooney – 140 Runs

Individual Scores: Laura Wolvaardt 76 (45 balls) | Beth Mooney 85* (51 balls)

Laura Wolvaardt and Beth Mooney came out swinging for Gujarat Giants Women against RCB Women on March 6, 2024, in Delhi. Wolvaardt smashed 13 boundaries on her way to 76 before a run-out stopped her.

On the other side, Mooney just kept going—she stayed not out on 85 from 51 balls, hitting 12 fours and a six. Thanks to that 140-run opening stand, Gujarat put up 199 for five and finally grabbed their first win of the season. With this, GG-W won by 19 runs against RCB-W, and Beth Mooney was the Player of the Match.

4. Devika Vaidya & Alyssa Healy – 139* Runs

Individual Scores: Alyssa Healy 96* (47 balls) | Devika Vaidya 36* (31 balls)

Alyssa Healy and Devika Vaidya lit up Brabourne Stadium that night. Together, they put on a show at the top of the order, racking up 139 runs without losing a wicket for UP Warriorz Women against RCB Women on March 10, 2023.

Healy was unstoppable—she hammered 96 runs off just 47 balls, smacking 18 boundaries and sending one over the ropes for six. Devika backed her up perfectly, steady and calm, finishing on 36 from 31 balls. The two of them chased down 139 in only 13 overs, barely breaking a sweat and never giving RCB a chance. Not a single wicket lost. UPW Women won by 10 wickets (with 42 balls remaining), and Alyssa Healey was the Player of the Match.

5. Nat Sciver-Brunt & Hayley Matthews – 133 Runs

Against UP Warriorz Women on February 26, 2025, and then again in the WPL Eliminator against Gujarat Giants Women on March 13, 2025. In that first game, Sciver-Brunt stayed unbeaten on 75, peppering the boundary with 13 fours, and MI Women won by 8 wickets (with 18 balls remaining). Nat Sciver-Brunt was rewarded as Player of the Match.

6. Nat Sciver-Brunt & Hayley Matthews – 133 Runs

Individual Scores (vs GG, Mar 13): Nat Sciver-Brunt 77 (41 balls) | Hayley Matthews 77 (50 balls)

Nat Sciver-Brunt from England and Hayley Matthews from the West Indies have been electric for the Mumbai Indians Women. Twice, they racked up 133 runs together—once. In the Eliminator, both went big, scoring 77 each.

Sciver-Brunt knocked 10 fours and two sixes, while Matthews hammered 10 fours and an extra six, making it three for her. That partnership just keeps delivering. In the end, the MI Women won by 47 runs, and Matthews was the Player of the Match.

7. Smriti Mandhana & Sophie Devine – 125 Runs

Individual Scores: Sophie Devine 99 (36 balls) | Smriti Mandhana 37 (31 balls)

Smriti Mandhana, leading RCB Women, joined forces with New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, and the two put on a show—smashing a 125-run opening partnership against Gujarat Giants Women on March 18, 2023, at Brabourne Stadium.

Devine was on fire. She hammered 99 runs from only 36 balls, peppering the boundary with nine 4s and eight 6s—just one run short of a hundred, but what an innings. Mandhana kept things steady at the other end, scoring 37 off 31. Together, they knocked off those 125 runs in just 56 balls, setting things up perfectly and making RCB’s chase of 189 look almost easy.

8. Beth Mooney & D Hemalatha – 121 Runs

Individual Scores: Beth Mooney 66 (35 balls) | D Hemalatha 74 (40 balls)

Beth Mooney kept her hot streak going, teaming up with D. Hemalatha for a game-changing stand. The two put together 121 runs for the second wicket during the Gujarat Giants’ clash with the Mumbai Indians on March 9, 2024, in Delhi.

Mooney hammered eight fours and three sixes on her way to 66. Hemalatha was even more explosive, blasting 74 from just 40 balls, with nine fours and two sixes. Thanks to their partnership, Gujarat Giants bounced back from an early setback and posted 190 for 7.

But still hard luck for GG-W because MI Women won by 7 wickets (with one ball remaining) in this nail-biting game.

9. Shafali Verma & Meg Lanning – 119 Runs

Individual Scores: Shafali Verma 64* (36 balls) | Meg Lanning 51 (43 balls)

Here we go again with Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning teaming up at the top. This time, they put together 119 runs for the first wicket against UP Warriorz Women on February 26, 2024, in Bengaluru. Shafali didn’t just stick around—she hammered an unbeaten 64 from 36 balls and brought up her fifty with a massive six.

Lanning played her part too, steady as ever, making 51 off 43 with six boundaries. Delhi Capitals made short work of the chase, knocking off the 120 they needed in just 14.3 overs and cruising to a 9-wicket win.

10. Nat Sciver-Brunt & Hayley Matthews – 114* Runs

Individual Scores: Nat Sciver-Brunt 55*(29 balls) | Hayley Matthews 77*(38 balls)

Sciver-Brunt and Matthews showed up in the top 10 for the third time, smashing 114 runs without losing a wicket against RCB Women on March 6, 2023, at Brabourne Stadium. It was the WPL’s first season, and their partnership set the tone.

Thanks to their unbeaten stand, the Mumbai Indians Women put up a winning total in one of their first league games. This wasn’t just a good day—it kicked off their run as the WPL’s most reliable pair. With this, MI-W won by 9 wickets (with 34 balls remaining), and Hayley Matthews was the Player of the Match.
