The WPL 2026 is all set to start on January 6, and the Mumbai Indians Women will face the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening game. MI are the two-time champion and will look to defend the title. RCB won the tournament in 2024, when MI failed to qualify for the final.

1. UP Warriorz Women (225/5) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (213), 2025
UP Warriorz Women crossed the 200-run mark for the first and only time in 2025 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They made 225 runs for the loss of five wickets, the highest total in WPL. Georgia Voll was the highest scorer for the team and remained unbeaten on 99 runs off 56 deliveries.

RCB put all their heart into the chase but failed to surpass the target. They were bundled out for 213 runs and lost the match by 12 runs. Voll won the Player of the Match award for her batting performance.
2. Gujarat Giants Women (201/5) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (202/4), 2025
In the first match of the 2025 edition, the Gujarat Giants Women faced the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women. RCB won the toss and elected to bowl. The Giants made 201 runs for the loss of five wickets. Ashleigh Gardner remained unbeaten on 79 runs off 37 deliveries.

In reply, RCB chased down the target of 202 runs in 18.3 overs with six wickets in hand. Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh made a half-century each. Richa remained unbeaten on 64 runs off 27 deliveries and won the Player of the Match award.
3. Gujarat Giants Women (201/7) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (190/6), 2023
In the sixth match of the 2023 edition, the Gujarat Giants elected to bat after winning the toss. The Giants made 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Sophia Dunkley made 65 runs off 28 deliveries, while Harleen Deol scored 67 runs off 45 deliveries. Shreyanka Patil and Heather Knight took two wickets each for RCB.

Sophie Devine made 66 runs off 45 deliveries. RCB finished with 190 runs for the loss of six wickets and lost the match by 11 runs. Dunkley won the Player of the Match award for her batting performance.
4. Mumbai Indians Women (213/4) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (166), 2025
In the 20th match of the 2025 edition, MI won the toss against RCB and elected to bowl. Ellyse Perry remained unbeaten on 49 runs off 38 deliveries. Hayley Matthews picked up two wickets for 37 runs in four overs. RCB scored 199 runs for the loss of three wickets.

Nat Sciver-Brunt made 69 runs off 35 deliveries and was dismissed for Perry. MI scored 188 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Sneh Rana took three wickets for 26 runs in four overs. Rana won the Player of the Match award.

5. Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (163/8) vs Delhi Capitals Women (223/2), 2023
In the second match of the inaugural edition of the tournament, Delhi Capitals Women took on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women. RCB won the toss and elected to bowl. Meg Lanning made 72 runs off 43 deliveries, while Shafali Verma scored 84 runs off 45 deliveries. DC made 223 runs for the loss of two wickets. Heather Knight took two wickets for 40 runs in three overs.

RCB scored 163 runs for the loss of eight wickets and lost the match by 60 runs. Smriti Mandhana scored 35 runs off 23 deliveries and was the highest scorer for the team. Tara Norris of the USA took five wickets for 29 runs in four overs.
