Women’s franchise cricket reached a new commercial benchmark on February 5 as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women vs Delhi Capitals Women final in the Women’s Premier League 2026 season became the most-watched women’s T20 match in cricket history.
Staged at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, the title clash delivered record-breaking viewership across digital streaming, linear television, and connected TV, with official figures released by JioStar confirming the milestone.

Consumption for the final increased 60 per cent year-on-year compared to the 2025 summit clash. Digital platforms registered 2x growth in reach, while linear television ratings rose 74 per cent, the highest ever recorded for a women’s T20 final on Indian TV.
Connected TV metrics further highlighted the shift in viewing behaviour, with the 2026 final delivering twice the reach of the 2025 decider between the Mumbai Indians Women and the Delhi Capitals.
Season-wide data reinforces the scale of growth. WPL 2026 generated 34.5 billion minutes of content consumption across platforms, up 11 per cent from the previous edition. Digital reach climbed 17 per cent, overall consumption rose 69 per cent, and linear TV ratings improved 29 per cent, making it the highest-rated season since the league’s inception in 2023.
On the field, the final justified the audience’s surge. Delhi Capitals posted 203, but RCB completed the highest successful chase in WPL history with two balls to spare.
Smriti Mandhana’s 87 off 41 and Georgia Voll’s 79 off 54 produced a 165-run second-wicket partnership, sealing Bengaluru’s second title on a night that set new standards for women’s T20 cricket viewership.
