Sophia Dunkley from Gujarat Giants holds the record for the fastest 50 in the WPL. She scored 50 in just 18 balls against RCB. Also, Chinelle Henry from UP Warriorz scored 50 in 18 balls against DC. So, here’s a look at the top 10 quickest fifties in WPL history.

1. Sophia Dunkley (England) – 18 balls

Sophia Dunkley smashed the fastest fifty in WPL history when she played for the Gujarat Giants against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 8, 2023. That day at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, during the very first WPL season, she opened the innings and went after the bowlers right from the start.

Dunkley hammered 11 fours and 3 sixes, piling up 65 runs from just 28 balls. Her strike rate? An eye-popping 232.14. She blasted her way to fifty in only 18 balls, including a huge over where she grabbed 23 runs. Unsurprisingly, she took home the Player of the Match award for that knock. Thanks to her, Gujarat Giants put up 201 runs and held on to win by 11.

2. Chinelle Henry (West Indies) – 18 balls

Chinelle Henry, the West Indies all-rounder, tied Dunkley’s record during the WPL 2025. She pulled this off for UP Warriorz against Delhi Capitals on February 22, 2025, in Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Henry walked in with her team in deep trouble—89 for 6. Then she went absolutely berserk. Batting at number 8, she hammered 62 runs from just 23 balls, smashing 2 fours and launching 8 sixes, including four in a row during the 19th over to bring up her fifty. Her strike rate? A wild 269.57.

Nobody batting at number 8 or lower in Women’s T20 cricket has ever scored more. No surprise here—Henry took home the Player of the Match award for her heroic effort.

3. Shafali Verma (India) – 19 balls

Shafali Verma didn’t waste any time at the crease. Opening for Delhi Capitals against Gujarat Giants on March 11, 2023, at DY Patil Stadium, she smashed the third-fastest fifty in WPL history. She tore into the bowling, racking up 76 runs from just 28 balls. Ten boundaries, five sixes—her strike rate shot up to a staggering 271.43.

Thanks to her fireworks, Delhi Capitals chased down 106 in only 7.1 overs, winning by 10 wickets. Shafali still holds the record as the fastest Indian to reach a WPL fifty, and her 185.29 strike rate was the highest in the tournament that year.

4. Sophie Devine (New Zealand) – 20 balls

Sophie Devine lit up the WPL that night. The New Zealand skipper smashed a fifty off just 20 balls for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, going absolutely berserk against Gujarat Giants on March 18, 2023, at Brabourne Stadium. She didn’t slow down, either.

Devine piled up 99 runs from only 36 deliveries, hammering 9 fours and launching 8 sixes. Her strike rate? A wild 275.00. Just one run short of the WPL’s first-ever century, but she didn’t seem to mind—her 8 sixes matched the league record for most in a single inning. As she walked off, the entire RCB dugout stood and bowed. Thanks to Devine’s fireworks, RCB chased down 189 in only 15.3 overs and won by 8 wickets.

5. Harmanpreet Kaur (India) – 22 balls

Harmanpreet Kaur kicked off the very first WPL match with a bang. On March 4, 2023, at the DY Patil Stadium, she made history by playing for Mumbai Indians against Gujarat Giants. She smashed the WPL’s first-ever fifty, racking up 65 runs from just 30 balls. Fourteen of those shots raced to the boundary, but she didn’t bother with any sixes.

At one point, she hammered seven fours in a row across two overs—a feat that put her right up there with Chris Gayle’s IPL record. With a strike rate of 216.67, she powered Mumbai Indians to a massive total of 207. They crushed Gujarat Giants, winning by 143 runs. Harmanpreet led from the front and took Mumbai Indians all the way to the first-ever WPL title.

6. Bharti Fulmali (India) – 22 balls

Bharti Fulmali, the Indian batter, matched Harmanpreet’s record during the WPL 2025. She pulled this off for the Gujarat Giants against the Mumbai Indians on March 10, 2025, right at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The Giants were in real trouble—70 for 5 chasing 180—when Fulmali walked in. She just went for it. Smashed 61 off only 25 balls. Eight boundaries, four sixes, and a strike rate of 244. She nearly dragged her team to an impossible win, but they ended up 9 runs short. Still, Fulmali’s first WPL fifty made it clear—she’s a real power hitter.

7. Richa Ghosh (India) – 23 balls

Richa Ghosh lit up the WPL 2025 opener with a stunning performance. Walking out for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, she hammered a fifty in just 23 balls against the Gujarat Giants at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on February 14. She didn’t stop there—Ghosh smashed 64 runs off 27 balls, peppering the boundary with 7 fours and 4 sixes, and kept her strike rate soaring at 237.

She took charge when it mattered most, helping RCB pull off a record chase of 202 runs—the biggest in WPL history. In the 16th over, she tore into Ashleigh Gardner for 23 runs and then finished things off in style with a six over deep midwicket. At just 21, Ghosh has already made her mark as one of the top finishers in women’s cricket.

8. Kiran Navgire (India) – 24 balls

Kiran Navgire wasted no time at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on February 19, 2025. She smashed a fifty off just 24 balls for UP Warriorz against Delhi Capitals—pure fireworks. She’s got a reputation for going big right from the very first delivery, and it shows. Navgire actually pops up twice in the top 10 fastest fifties list.

She’s been with UP Warriorz since the team’s very first season, and her fearless approach in the middle order really sets her apart. When she’s in the zone, she doesn’t just score runs—she shifts the whole momentum of the match.

9. Grace Harris (Australia) – 25 balls

Grace Harris pulled off something special for UP Warriorz against Gujarat Giants on March 5, 2023, at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The team looked down and out at 88 for 6, chasing 170. Then Harris walked in and just took over.

She smashed an unbeaten 59 from only 26 balls—cracking 7 fours and 3 sixes, batting at a wild strike rate of 226.92. UP needed 19 runs from the last over. Harris made it look easy, finishing the job with one ball left. She hammered two sixes and a four off the last three balls. Honestly, she dragged UP Warriorz to victory all by herself.

10. Kiran Navgire (India) – 25 balls

Kiran Navgire smashed another rapid half-century in the WPL 2024, blasting her way to 50 off just 25 balls for UP Warriorz against Mumbai Indians on February 28 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This marks her second appearance on this list, and honestly, it says a lot about how consistent she’s been as a power hitter.
