Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals may share a border on the map, but when it comes to their IPL head-to-head, there is not much balance. GT has dominated this rivalry since they entered the league in 2022. However, in recent times, RR has started to push back hard.

The two sides have met eight times in the IPL so far. GT leads 6-2. That number, though, does not tell the whole story. Two of RR’s biggest defeats came in 2022, when GT were simply unstoppable. GT vs RR: Venue-Wise Records

Here are the Venue-wise Records:

Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur

Jaipur has been a far more even ground for this fixture. RR has beaten GT at Sawai Mansingh twice, while GT holds one win there. Their biggest Jaipur win came in May 2023, when GT chased down 119 inside 12 overs with 9 wickets to spare. However, RR hit back in April 2025 in spectacular fashion. Conclusion: GT Leads, But RR Is Closing the Gap

GT leads the head-to-head 6-2, and that margin reflects their outstanding 2022 season, when they were simply the best team in the country. However, the rivalry has become a much closer contest since then. RR has won two of the last five meetings, and their current squad, with young players like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal alongside experienced names like Ravindra Jadeja and Riyan Parag, looks well-placed to challenge GT consistently.

GT, for their part, still rely on Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan as their two most influential players in this fixture. As long as those two perform, GT will remain a serious force.

With both sides meeting again in IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, expect another high-scoring, closely fought game. History favours GT at home, but RR has shown it can win anywhere.
