SRH leads the PBKS vs SRH head-to-head record 17–7 across 24 IPL matches. In other words, this is one of the most lopsided rivalries in the tournament. Moreover, SRH have won their last 5 consecutive matches against PBKS, a dominance streak that stretches back to 2023. As a result, PBKS haven’t beaten SRH since a 2022 encounter at the Wankhede Stadium.
Yet this rivalry has also produced extraordinary batting displays. For instance, the IPL 2025 match in Hyderabad saw Abhishek Sharma smash 141 off 55 balls. Consequently, SRH chased down 246 with 9 balls to spare. Both teams posted totals exceeding 245 in the same match.
PBKS reached the IPL 2025 Final (lost to RCB) and therefore enter IPL 2026 as the form team. Meanwhile, SRH won the IPL title in 2016 and reached the 2024 final. Both teams meet next on April 11 in IPL 2026 at Mullanpur. All data below is updated through IPL 2025.

Venue-Wise Breakdown
Here are Venue Wise Records of Both teams:
SRH’s Hyderabad Fortress
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad: This is where PBKS’s nightmares begin. SRH have won 9 out of 10 matches at their home ground against PBKS. Furthermore, the only PBKS win in Hyderabad came back in 2014, when they successfully chased down 206. Since then, PBKS have lost every single visit to the city.
In addition, the 2025 match here produced 492 combined runs. Most importantly, it featured Abhishek Sharma’s record-breaking 141, making it one of the greatest batting spectacles in IPL history.
PBKS’s Home Advantage
IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali / Mullanpur (PBKS home venues): On the other hand, PBKS have enjoyed better fortune on their own turf. Across 6 matches at the IS Bindra Stadium, PBKS lead 4–2. However, the match at Mullanpur in 2024 went SRH’s way, resulting in a narrow 2-run win that extended their streak.
Neutral Grounds
Neutral Venues (UAE, Mumbai, Sharjah): Interestingly, PBKS have a rare edge here, winning 3 out of 4 matches at neutral venues. Their 2022 win at the Wankhede was, in fact, PBKS’s last victory over SRH in any format.

Recent Form: SRH’s 5-Match Winning Streak
Here is Recent form of both teams:
The Dominance Continues
The stat that defines this rivalry’s recent chapter is straightforward: SRH have won 5 consecutive matches against PBKS, stretching from 2023 to 2025. Consequently, PBKS’s last victory in this fixture was a 5-wicket win at the Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2022. Since that day, PBKS have tried and failed five times to beat the Sunrisers.
The 2025 Hyderabad Blockbuster
The IPL 2025 match at Hyderabad on April 12 was arguably the most extraordinary game in this rivalry’s history. First, PBKS batted and posted a mammoth 245/6. Priyansh Arya (36 off 13) and Prabhsimran Singh (42 off 23) gave them a flying start, reaching 89/1 in the powerplay.

After that, Shreyas Iyer took over, smashing 82 off 36 balls with his quickest IPL fifty coming in just 22 balls. In addition, Nehal Wadhera (27) and Shashank Singh added late acceleration to push the total beyond 245.
SRH’s Record-Breaking Chase
Most teams would be thrilled defending 246. However, SRH chased it in 17.3 overs, losing just 2 wickets. Abhishek Sharma produced one of the greatest IPL innings ever, scoring 141 off 55 balls with 14 fours and 10 sixes.
Remarkably, he reached his fifty in just 16 deliveries, which is the fastest ever by an SRH batter. Furthermore, his century came in 40 balls. Travis Head (66 off 37) was the perfect foil, and consequently their opening stand of 171 runs became the highest partnership of IPL 2025.
The 2024 Double
Before the 2025 thriller, SRH had already won both 2024 encounters. The first at Mullanpur was a 2-run thriller, the kind of tight finish that has often defined this rivalry. The second at Hyderabad, on the other hand, was a more comfortable 4-wicket win.

Highest Team Score in PBKS vs SRH Matches
The 2025 Hyderabad blockbuster produced the highest team totals on both sides of this rivalry.
| Team | Highest Score | Year / Venue |
|---|---|---|
| SRH | 247/2 | 2025 / Hyderabad (chasing 246, won by 8 wickets) |
| PBKS | 245/6 | 2025 / Hyderabad (same match, lost) |
SRH’s 247/2 in IPL 2025 was the highest successful chase in IPL history at the time. Specifically, Abhishek Sharma (141) and Travis Head (66) made a mockery of 246, reaching the target with 9 balls to spare. As a result, the bowling of Arshdeep Singh, Glenn Maxwell, and Yuzvendra Chahal looked completely helpless.
On the other hand, PBKS’s 245/6 in the same match would have won virtually any other IPL game. Shreyas Iyer’s 82 off 36 was, without a doubt, a captaincy innings of the highest quality. But posting 245 and still losing tells you everything about SRH’s batting firepower in Hyderabad.
Lowest Team Score in PBKS vs SRH Matches
In contrast to the batting fireworks, the lows in this rivalry highlight SRH’s bowling dominance.
| Team | Lowest Score | Context |
|---|---|---|
| PBKS | 114 | Pre-2020 era |
| PBKS | 119 | Various (SRH bowling dominance) |
PBKS’s 114 is the lowest completed innings total in this fixture. Historically, SRH’s bowling, led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan, has consistently restricted PBKS on surfaces where their batting should have thrived.
What’s also notable is that SRH’s lowest score against PBKS is significantly higher. This clearly reflects the overall one-sidedness of this rivalry. In other words, even in their rare losses, SRH have generally posted competitive totals.
Most Runs in PBKS vs SRH Matches
| Rank | Player | Current Team (2026) | Runs | Key Context |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | David Warner | Retired from IPL | 700 | SRH’s all-time talisman in this fixture |
| 2 | Shikhar Dhawan | Retired | 419 | Played for both SRH and PBKS |
| 3 | KL Rahul | DC | ~307 | Top-scored for PBKS during his stint |
| 4 | Abhishek Sharma | SRH | ~250 | 141 in 2025, record-breaking innings |
| 5 | Shreyas Iyer | PBKS | ~130 | 82 off 36 in the 2025 Hyderabad thriller |
David Warner (700 Runs)
Warner is the undisputed run-king of this fixture. Specifically, his 700 runs against PBKS came during his golden years as SRH captain (2015–2021). During that period, he won the Orange Cap three times and also led SRH to their only IPL title in 2016. Consequently, his dominance against PBKS’s bowling was so complete that he averaged above 50. Although he has retired from the IPL, his legacy in this rivalry remains untouched.
Shikhar Dhawan (419 Runs)
Dhawan’s 419 runs are unique because he scored them for both sides. Initially, he was part of SRH’s 2016 title-winning squad alongside Warner, forming one of the IPL’s most devastating opening partnerships. He later moved to PBKS, which gave him insider’s knowledge of both camps. As a result, his runs came with several match-winning contributions.
KL Rahul (~307 Runs)
Rahul was PBKS’s best batter against SRH during his time at the franchise. In particular, his technically sound batting and ability to anchor innings made him PBKS’s most reliable run-scorer. He has since moved to Delhi Capitals, so he therefore no longer features in this rivalry. Nevertheless, his runs remain on PBKS’s side of the ledger.
Abhishek Sharma (~250 Runs)
Abhishek’s runs in this fixture are primarily dominated by one superhuman innings: his 141 off 55 balls in the 2025 Hyderabad match. That knock not only broke KL Rahul’s record for the highest score by an Indian in IPL history, but also made Abhishek the third-highest individual scorer in the tournament’s history. His aggressive left-handed batting, combined with his ability to target both pace and spin, consequently makes him the most dangerous current player in this fixture.
Shreyas Iyer (~130 Runs)
Iyer played his first PBKS vs SRH match in 2025 and immediately made an impact with 82 off 36 balls. That innings included his quickest IPL fifty (22 balls) and powered PBKS to 245. However, even 82 off 36 wasn’t enough to win. As PBKS captain, Iyer will therefore be desperate to end his team’s losing streak against SRH in IPL 2026.
Most Wickets in PBKS vs SRH Matches
| Rank | Player | Team | Wickets | Key Trait |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bhuvneshwar Kumar | SRH → RCB (2026) | 26 | Swing bowling, powerplay specialist |
| 2 | Rashid Khan | GT (2026) | 18 | Leg-spin, middle-overs control |
| 3 | Sandeep Sharma | PBKS & SRH | 18 | Medium-pace swing, played for both |
| 4 | Arshdeep Singh | PBKS | ~12 | Left-arm pace, death-overs mastery |
| 5 | T Natarajan | SRH | ~10 | Yorker specialist, left-arm pace |
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (26 Wickets)
Bhuvneshwar is the leading wicket-taker in this rivalry by a significant margin. His trademark inswing in the powerplay has been PBKS’s nemesis for over a decade. Specifically, his ability to move the ball both ways at 130+ kph made him virtually unplayable. In addition, his 5/19 against PBKS is the best bowling figure by an SRH bowler in this fixture. Notably, Bhuvneshwar moved to RCB for IPL 2026, thereby ending his long association with SRH.
Rashid Khan (18 Wickets)
The Afghan leg-spinner was SRH’s trump card against PBKS for five seasons (2017–2021). As a result, his economy rate in this fixture remained below 7, which consistently choked PBKS’s scoring. Furthermore, his googly troubled every PBKS batter throughout his stint. However, Rashid now plays for Gujarat Titans, meaning his tally in this specific rivalry has consequently plateaued.
Sandeep Sharma and Others
Sandeep Sharma (18 wickets) is a unique entry because he’s played for both sides. He initially took wickets for PBKS (2013–2017) and then reversed roles after moving to SRH.
Similarly, Arshdeep Singh (~12 wickets) has been PBKS’s most reliable bowler in recent seasons. His left-arm yorkers have been crucial in keeping games competitive. Meanwhile, T Natarajan (~10 wickets) complemented Bhuvneshwar’s new-ball swing with accurate death-overs yorkers for SRH.
Best Bowling Figures in PBKS vs SRH Matches
Interestingly, this rivalry has produced two five-wicket hauls, one from each side. That is quite rare for any IPL fixture.
| Player | Team | Figures | Year | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ankit Rajpoot | PBKS | 5/14 | IPL 2018 | Mohali (IS Bindra) |
| Bhuvneshwar Kumar | SRH | 5/19 | Pre-2020 | Various |
| Harshal Patel | SRH | 3+ wickets | IPL 2025 | Hyderabad |
| Rashid Khan | SRH (now GT) | 3+ wickets | Multiple | Various |
Ankit Rajpoot’s Record Spell (5/14)
Rajpoot’s 5/14 in 2018 is the best bowling performance in this rivalry’s history. His medium-pace seam bowling completely dismantled SRH at the IS Bindra Stadium. As a result, five wickets for just 14 runs remains a remarkable return in T20 cricket. Consequently, Rajpoot was named Player of the Match for this extraordinary performance.
Bhuvneshwar’s Five-For (5/19)
The second five-wicket haul belongs to the rivalry’s leading wicket-taker. Bhuvneshwar’s 5/19 showcased everything that makes him dangerous: inswing, outswing, pace variations, and pinpoint accuracy. Together, the two five-fors from opposite sides make this one of the rare IPL rivalries with five-wicket hauls from both teams.
Supporting Spells
Harshal Patel’s contributions in the 2025 match also deserve mention. Despite the batting carnage (492 combined runs), he still managed to take crucial wickets for SRH. Similarly, Rashid Khan’s cumulative impact of 18 wickets at an economy under 7 makes him one of the most effective bowlers in this fixture’s history, even though his best individual figures weren’t always eye-catching.

What Lies Ahead: IPL 2026 And Beyond
This rivalry tells a story of SRH dominance that PBKS simply haven’t been able to crack. Seventeen wins to seven. A 9–1 record in Hyderabad. Five consecutive victories. Warner’s 700 runs. Bhuvneshwar’s 26 wickets.
And yet, PBKS keep coming back with extraordinary batting moments. Gayle’s 104*. Shreyas Iyer’s 82 off 36. The 245 they posted in 2025 that still wasn’t enough.
With PBKS entering IPL 2026 unbeaten at 2–0 under Shreyas Iyer, the momentum is firmly in their corner. Meanwhile, SRH sit at 1–1 under new captain Ishan Kishan, with Pat Cummins sidelined due to injury.
The April 11 clash at Mullanpur could therefore be the game where PBKS finally end their losing streak. After all, they haven’t beaten SRH since 2022. However, PBKS’s home venues have historically been kinder to them (4–2 at Mohali).
With Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Marco Jansen leading the bowling, PBKS have never been better equipped to rewrite this rivalry. The only question is whether Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head will let them.
