Central Delhi Kings lead the Delhi Premier League 2026 points table after beating Purani Dilli 6 in the tournament opener on July 31. Here’s the complete DPL 2026 standings, how the points system works, and the full playoff picture, updated after every match.

Delhi Premier League 2026 Points Table (Updated)

The 2026 season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) got underway at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Only one match has been played so far, so the table is still wide open.

The other six franchises are still waiting to open their campaign. This table will get an update after every single match through the league stage.

How the DPL 2026 Points System Works

The scoring stays simple and consistent across the whole league stage.

  • A win earns a team 2 points.
  • A loss earns 0 points.
  • A tie or a no result earns 1 point each.

Teams get ranked by total points first. When two sides finish level, Net Run Rate steps in to break the tie.

What Net Run Rate (NRR) Means and Why It Matters

Net Run Rate measures how many more runs a team scores per over than it concedes, averaged across the whole tournament.

Win big or chase a small target quickly, and NRR jumps. Lose the same way, and it drops just as fast.

That’s exactly what happened after match one. Central Delhi Kings now sit on +0.543, while Purani Dilli 6 slipped to -0.543 after a single defeat. Funny how one bad night at the Arun Jaitley Stadium can swing that number more than most fans expect.

Delhi Premier League 2026 Format and Playoff Structure

DPL 2026 is organised by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and runs from July 31 to August 30. Eight franchises play a round robin league stage, adding up to 44 matches once the playoffs are counted in.

Once the league phase wraps up, the top four teams on the points table move into an IPL style knockout stage:

  • Qualifier 1: 1st place vs 2nd place, August 26
  • Eliminator: 3rd place vs 4th place, August 26
  • Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 vs winner of Eliminator, August 28
  • Final: Winner of Qualifier 1 vs winner of Qualifier 2, August 30

This format rewards consistency all season long. Finish in the top two, and a team gets two shots at the final instead of one.

DPL 2026 Teams: Full List of Franchises

Eight teams are competing in this year’s Delhi Premier League. Two of them, Outer Delhi Warriors and New Delhi Tigers, are playing their first ever DPL season.

  1. Central Delhi Kings, runners-up in DPL 2025
  2. Purani Dilli 6
  3. South Delhi Superstarz
  4. East Delhi Riders, champions of the inaugural 2024 season
  5. West Delhi Lions, defending champions after beating Central Delhi Kings in last year’s final
  6. New Delhi Tigers
  7. Outer Delhi Warriors
  8. North Delhi Strikers

Every group stage and playoff match is being played at the same venue this year, the Arun Jaitley Stadium. So travel fatigue won’t be anyone’s excuse for a poor NRR in 2026.

About the Delhi Premier League

The DPL is a franchise T20 tournament that the DDCA runs in line with BCCI’s domestic cricket guidelines. It gives Delhi’s next generation a proper stage.

Launched in 2024, this is only the competition’s third season, yet it already has real IPL crossover. Names like Rishabh Pant, Mayank Yadav, and Priyansh Arya have turned out for DPL franchises, which makes the standings worth watching well beyond Delhi.

Final Word: Stay Tuned for Updated Points Table of DPL 2026

The Delhi Premier League 2026 points table will shift fast, with 44 matches still to separate the contenders from the rest.

Central Delhi Kings hold an early edge, but one result at the Arun Jaitley Stadium can flip the standings just as quickly, ask Purani Dilli 6. Watch the Net Run Rate column too, since a league this even rarely gets decided on points alone.
