The T20 World Cup Qualifier C 2026 runs from 14 to 21 August in Finland. It closes out the third and final leg of Europe’s opening qualifying stage for the 2028 Men’s T20 World Cup, which Australia and New Zealand will host jointly.
Ten teams travel to Finland for this event. Hosts Finland join Bulgaria, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Isle of Man, Israel, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain. Together they’ll play 24 matches across two grounds near Helsinki.
The winner joins Jersey and Denmark, who already advanced from Qualifiers A and B, on the next step of the qualifying pathway.

T20 World Cup Qualifier C 2026 Schedule and Fixtures
Each match day carries four games. Two start in the morning and two in the afternoon, split evenly between the two venues. Morning matches start at 11:00 local time in Finland (8:00 GMT). Afternoon matches start at 16:00 local time (13:00 GMT).
Organisers haven’t confirmed exact venues and times for the four play-off matches on 21 August yet. Those depend on how the group stage finishes, so we’ve marked them TBC below.

Teams get a rest day after every second match day. That break falls on 16 and 19 August.
How the Qualifier C Format Works
Each group plays a single round robin. Every team faces the other four teams in its group once. That gives each side four games, and 20 games across both groups.
Group standings then set the play-off matches on the final day:
- The two group winners play each other in the Final.
- The two runners-up play for 3rd and 4th place.
- The two third-placed teams play for 5th and 6th place.
- The two fourth-placed teams play for 7th and 8th place.
The two teams that finish fifth in their group don’t play a knockout match. They simply end the tournament in 9th and 10th place based on their group results. Qualifiers A and B used this exact same format earlier this year, just with different teams.

A few quick notes on the field:
- Finland plays at home, on grounds it has used for Europe qualifying matches before, including in 2022.
- Most of these teams already played a full season of T20I cricket this year, since 29 European nations split across the three 2026 sub-regional qualifiers in Cyprus, Denmark and Finland.
- Isle of Man named a 14-player squad for the tournament. The group includes Matt Ansell, Joe Burrows, Jacob Butler and Carl Hartmann.
What the Winner Gets: The Road to 2028
Here’s why this tournament matters beyond the ten teams playing in it.
The 2028 Men’s T20 World Cup will field 20 teams, hosted jointly by Australia and New Zealand. The ICC expanded the Super 10 stage from 8 to 10 teams for this edition and added a new eliminator round near the end.
The ICC Board also updated the qualification pathway at its Annual General Meeting in Edinburgh in July 2026. Scotland now gets direct entry into the Europe Regional Final. The ICC made this exception because of the unusual way Scotland reached the 2026 World Cup, after Bangladesh withdrew from that tournament.
That leaves four teams at the Europe Regional Final: Scotland, plus the three sub-regional qualifier winners. Jersey won Qualifier A, Denmark won Qualifier B, and the Qualifier C winner joins them from Finland.
The top two finishers at that Regional Final then move on to the Global Qualifier. This bigger event brings together two teams each from Europe, Africa and Asia, one team each from the Americas and East Asia-Pacific, plus eight teams that played the 2026 World Cup but didn’t automatically requalify for 2028 (Canada, Italy, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, UAE and USA).
From the Global Qualifier, the top team from each region plus the next three best overall teams earn a place at the 2028 World Cup. A strong week in Finland doesn’t guarantee a World Cup spot on its own, but it keeps that path open.
Finland Returns as Host
Cricket Finland calls this its second time hosting a Europe qualifying event of this size. The country previously hosted one in 2022, at the same two grounds it’s using again this year.

Looking Back: The 2024 Qualifier C
The last time this exact fixture ran, it fed into the 2026 World Cup instead of 2028. Guernsey hosted that edition in August 2024. Here’s how it played out.

Guernsey won every group game on home soil, then beat Denmark in the final. Denmark, this year’s Qualifier B winners, will want a better result the next time they reach this stage.
