Dindigul Dragons top the TNPL 2026 points table after beating defending champions IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in the tournament opener on August 4.

Season 10 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League has just kicked off at Dindigul’s NPR College Ground, and the table will shift after every single game.

Here’s the full points table, how the ranking system works, and where all eight teams stand right now.

TNPL 2026 Points Table

Here’s where every team stands in the TNPL 2026 points table at this early stage of the season.

Here’s the updated Tamil Nadu Premier League 2026 points table based on the latest standings shown in the image, keeping the same format and column headings:

PosTeamPlayedWonLossTiedN/RPointsNRR
1Nellai Royal Kings (NRK)110002+2.500
2Siechem Kovai Kings (VKK)110002+1.700
3Dindigul Dragons (DGD)110002+0.650
4Madurai Panthers (MDP)110002+0.197

6IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT)101000-0.650
7Salem Spartans (SAL)101000-1.700
8Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG)101000-2.500

Only one match has been played so far, so six teams are still sitting on zero points. That’s not a form slump, they simply haven’t taken the field yet.

IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans were bowled out for 107 in that opener, and Dindigul Dragons chased the target down to start their campaign with a win.

How the TNPL 2026 Points System Works

The scoring is simple, and it hasn’t changed from previous seasons. Every team earns points based on the result of each match.

A win is worth 2 points. A no-result or a tied match earns 1 point for each side. A loss gets 0 points.

What Breaks a Tie? Net Run Rate Explained

When two or more teams finish on the same points, Net Run Rate (NRR) decides who ranks higher in the table.

In simple terms, NRR compares how fast a team scores its runs against how fast it lets the opposition score theirs.

So if Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Super Gillies both end up on eight points, whichever team has the better run rate difference gets the higher spot.

TNPL 2026 Format: How Teams Qualify for the Playoffs

TNPL 2026 follows a round robin format with eight teams. Every side plays the other seven once, which adds up to 28 league matches.

The top four teams in the points table after the league stage move on to the playoffs.

The playoffs run through Qualifier 1 on August 23, the Eliminator on August 24, Qualifier 2 on August 26, and the Final on August 28. All four are played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Conclusion: Stay Tuned for Updated TNPL 2026 Points Table

The TNPL 2026 points table is only one match old, so treat this as the calm before the storm.

Dindigul Dragons have a head start, and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans will want to fix things fast before the table gets crowded.

This page will be updated as the season moves through Dindigul and into the Chennai leg, all the way to the August 28 final.
