The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has launched a new scheme to provide monthly financial help to former women cricketers from the state. The decision was made during a managing committee meeting held on Monday.
This plan aims to support players who do not receive a pension from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Financial Support Details
The amount of money a player receives depends on their experience and the level of cricket they played. International players who represented India in Test and ODI matches will receive INR 12,500 per month.
For domestic players, the monthly pay will range between INR 6,000 and INR 10,000. This covers those who played for the Women’s Cricket Association of India (WCAI) or the BCCI.

The specific amounts are based on the number of matches played:
- WCAI Players: INR 6,000 (8 to 15 matches) up to INR 10,000 (21 or more matches).
- WCAI + BCCI Players: INR 6,000 (15 to 20 matches) up to INR 10,000 (25 or more matches).
- BCCI Only Players: INR 6,000 (20 to 25 matches) up to INR 10,000 (35 or more matches).
The association also set aside an extra INR 7,500 per month for players who are over 75 years old. Because old records are limited, players must apply for this aid themselves.
Help For Men And Match Officials
The MPCA also increased the pension for retired male cricketers and umpires. Retired men who are not under the BCCI pension plan will now get between INR 7,000 and INR 12,500 based on their match count.
Umpires at the BCCI level will receive INR 10,000, while state-level umpires will get INR 6,500. Like the women players, retired male officials over 75 years old will get an additional INR 7,500.
Daily pay for match officials has also gone up. Umpires for inter-divisional games will now earn INR 5,000 per day. Scorers will receive INR 2,500 and selectors will be paid INR 9,000.
Key Leadership And Infrastructure Updates
In the same meeting, Chandrakant Pandit was reappointed as the Director of Cricket for a two-year term. Pandit has been with the MPCA since 2020. He famously led the senior men’s team to their first Ranji Trophy title as head coach.
The committee also approved new building projects. New pavilion blocks will be built at the cricket grounds in Morena and Narmadapuram to improve local facilities.
