Punjab Kings have unveiled their new official match jersey for the 2026 Indian Premier League season. The team announced the new kit through their official social media channels on Wednesday.
The franchise has kept red in their new design but replaced gold with blue, giving the jersey a fresh look. The red and blue combination has long represented the energy and spirit of the Punjab Kings franchise.
What the Design Looks Like
The updated jersey features a lion motif at the centre, which gradually transitions into diamond-shaped patterns across the fabric. According to the franchise, the lion represents instinct, aggression, and raw talent, while the diamonds stand for what that talent becomes through preparation, hard work, and elite competition.

The design also draws from Punjabi culture. The jersey’s pattern is inspired by Punjabi truck art, and the design is described as a blend of cultural identity and on-field performance.
A Team Riding on Last Season’s Success
Punjab Kings had a strong IPL 2025 campaign but could not win the title, losing a close final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad by just six runs. They lost to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in that final and it was their first appearance in the playoffs since 2014.
The team is led by India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer and coached by former Australia captain Ricky Ponting.
When Will the Jersey Make Its Debut?
Punjab Kings will wear the new jersey for the first time on March 31, when they host IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh. They will then travel to Chennai to face CSK on April 3, before taking on Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 6.
The first match of IPL 2026 is between defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, scheduled for March 28 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
