Gujarat Giants finished in second place. They earned 10 points from their matches. This is the first time the Giants have made it to the playoffs. They will now play in the Eliminator match.
Delhi Capitals secured the third and final playoff spot. Their race for the top three went down to the very last day. They beat UP Warriorz in their final game to secure their place. This win knocked out the two-time champions, Mumbai Indians. It is the first time the Mumbai Indians have missed the playoffs.
