The real story, however, involved Sikandar Raza. He flew in from a Test match in England just 10 minutes before the toss. Then he walked out and hit the winning six to clinch the title.
As a result of this win, Shaheen Afridi became the first captain in PSL history to win three titles. No other skipper has even managed two.

Meanwhile, HBL PSL 11 kicked off on March 26, 2026, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars facing debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen. For the first time, the tournament features eight teams and runs until May 3, 2026.
