Rawalpindiz fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 for an indefinite period.
The franchise confirmed the news on Monday, April 6, 2026, after the player sustained a side injury.
Details of the Injury
The 23-year-old pacer suffered a side strain during a recent match against Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium. The injury occurred mid-match on April 2, forcing him to leave the field after bowling only 2.2 overs.

Following the match, Naseem underwent an MRI scan. Based on the medical results, doctors have advised him to take a complete break from cricket. He already missed the high-profile “Twin City Derby” against Islamabad United on April 4.
Team Statement And Recovery
The Rawalpindiz management stated that Naseem will be sidelined for the foreseeable future. The medical staff is currently monitoring his rehabilitation process very closely. While he is ruled out indefinitely, the team expressed cautious optimism that he might return for the final stages of the tournament if his recovery goes well.
The franchise has offered full support to the bowler during this time. Team officials mentioned that his absence is a major blow to their bowling attack, as he is a key player for the squad.
Recent Challenges
This injury adds to a difficult week for Naseem Shah. Before being sidelined, he faced disciplinary action from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He was fined 20 million PKR regarding a controversial social media post. Naseem later apologized, stating that a member of his management team had shared the post without his approval.
Rawalpindiz will now have to rely on their bench strength for their upcoming matches as they push for a spot in the playoffs.
