KKR leads the KKR vs SRH head-to-head record 20–10 across 30 IPL matches. This is one of the most one-sided rivalries in the tournament’s history, and the numbers barely capture the emotional toll. The 2024 IPL Final, where KKR demolished SRH for just 113, was the rivalry’s crescendo. But SRH’s 110-run annihilation of KKR at the end of IPL 2025 proved that scorecards can lie, and this rivalry is far more competitive than the 20–10 record suggests.

What sets this fixture apart is the playoff pedigree. These two teams have met in 4 IPL knockouts, including the 2024 Final and the 2018 Qualifier 2. KKR have 3 IPL titles (2012, 2014, 2024) while SRH have 1 (2016). Both teams lost their opening matches of IPL 2026 and are facing off tonight (April 2) at Eden Gardens. All data below is updated through IPL 2025.

KKR vs SRH Head-to-Head: Summary

KKR leads the all-time head-to-head 20–10 across 30 IPL matches, making it one of the most dominant rivalries in the tournament. However, SRH’s 110-run demolition in the final league match of IPL 2025 proved they won’t remain on the wrong end forever.

Venue-Wise Breakdown

  • Eden Gardens, Kolkata: KKR’s fortress. They’ve won 8 out of 10 matches against SRH at their home ground. The roaring Kolkata crowd and the pace-friendly Eden Gardens conditions have historically made life miserable for SRH. Only twice have the Sunrisers left Kolkata with a win, making this one of the most difficult away trips in the IPL. Tonight’s IPL 2026 Match 6 is the 11th encounter at this ground.
  • Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad: Even on home soil, SRH don’t dominate this fixture. KKR lead 4–3 across 7 matches in Hyderabad. SRH’s batting-friendly home ground should theoretically favour their explosive approach, but KKR’s bowling depth has neutralised that advantage more often than not.
  • Neutral Venues (UAE, Delhi, Chennai, Pune): KKR hold the edge at neutral grounds too, having won all their matches against SRH during the UAE-based seasons in 2020 and 2021. SRH’s 110-run win at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium in May 2025 was a rare bright spot on neutral turf.

KKR vs SRH Match Results (IPL 2019–2025)

Recent Form: KKR’s 7-Match Stranglehold, Then SRH’s Revenge

Here’s the stat that dominated this rivalry’s recent chapter: KKR won 7 consecutive matches against SRH from IPL 2022 through the first meeting of IPL 2025. That’s not just dominance. That’s a monopoly. The run included the 2024 IPL Final, Qualifier 1, and multiple narrow wins that SRH let slip.

The IPL 2024 Final at Chennai was the defining moment. SRH batted first and were bowled out for just 113, their lowest total in any IPL final. Mitchell Starc took 3 early wickets, and KKR chased the target in just 10.3 overs, winning by 8 wickets. One commentator put it best: SRH held two contrasting IPL records, the highest ever score in a match (287/3 vs RCB) and the lowest ever score in a final (113 vs KKR).

However, SRH got the last word in IPL 2025. Their final league match on May 25 at Delhi produced a sensational batting display. Heinrich Klaasen smashed an unbeaten 105 off 39 balls, the joint third-fastest century in IPL history. Travis Head (76 off 40) and Abhishek Sharma provided a blistering opening stand of 92 in the first seven overs. SRH posted 278/3 and then bowled KKR out for 168, winning by a massive 110 runs, their largest victory margin in this fixture’s history.

Before that emphatic sign-off, KKR had beaten SRH by 80 runs at Eden Gardens earlier in IPL 2025. SRH were bowled out for just 120 chasing 201, which showed how one-sided things remained at KKR’s home ground. SRH’s last win at Eden Gardens was way back in April 2023.

Highest Team Score in KKR vs SRH Matches

SRH’s IPL 2025 finale rewrote the record books for the highest total in this fixture.

TeamHighest ScoreYear / Venue
SRH278/32025 / Delhi (Arun Jaitley)
KKR208/72024 / Kolkata (Eden Gardens)

SRH’s 278/3 was powered by Klaasen’s sensational century and the Head-Abhishek opening blitz. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine bore the full brunt of Klaasen’s onslaught, conceding six of his nine sixes between them. It was a masterclass in power-hitting that left the entire KKR attack helpless.

KKR’s 208/7 at Eden Gardens in the 2024 league match saw Venkatesh Iyer counterattack brilliantly in the death overs. SRH came within 4 runs of chasing it down, making it one of the closest finishes in this rivalry. That 4-run margin hurt SRH more than most defeats, given how close they came.

Lowest Team Score in KKR vs SRH Matches

The lows in this rivalry have been spectacularly low, especially on the biggest stages.

TeamLowest ScoreContext
KKR101IPL league stage
SRH1132024 / Chennai (IPL Final)

SRH’s 113 all out in the IPL 2024 Final is the more painful collapse. On cricket’s biggest domestic stage, SRH’s explosive batting lineup, which had scored 287/3 earlier that season, simply crumbled. Mitchell Starc struck with the first ball of the match, removing Travis Head, and the floodgates opened. KKR chased the total in 10.3 overs, making it one of the most one-sided IPL finals in history.

KKR’s 101 is the lowest by either side in a league stage encounter. However, KKR’s ability to bounce back from such collapses is what separates them in this rivalry. They’ve rarely had consecutive bad games against SRH.

Most Runs in KKR vs SRH Matches

David Warner leads the run charts by a significant margin. His decade-long stint as SRH’s talisman included some of his finest IPL innings against KKR.

RankPlayerTeamRunsNotable
1David WarnerSRH619HS: 126 vs KKR (2017), 3-time Orange Cap
2Nitish RanaKKR492Consistent middle-order contributions
3Manish PandeySRH438Anchor role in the middle overs
4Gautam GambhirKKR~400Led KKR to 2 titles (2012, 2014)

Warner’s 619 runs include his magnificent 126 off 59 balls at Eden Gardens in IPL 2017. That innings remains the highest individual score in KKR vs SRH matches. It featured 10 fours and 8 sixes, and is widely regarded as one of Warner’s finest IPL knocks. However, even Warner’s individual brilliance couldn’t overcome KKR’s collective superiority, which tells you everything about this rivalry’s balance.

Nitish Rana’s 492 runs came during his time at KKR, where his ability to handle both pace and spin made him dangerous in the middle order. Rana was particularly effective against SRH’s spinners, which made him a consistent threat across multiple seasons.

Manish Pandey (438 runs) steadied SRH’s innings when early wickets fell, often playing the anchor role that complemented Warner’s aggression at the top.

Most Wickets in KKR vs SRH Matches

Andre Russell and Bhuvneshwar Kumar represent two completely different bowling philosophies at the top of the charts.

RankPlayerTeamWicketsKey Trait
1Andre RussellKKR25Pace, death-overs enforcer, genuine all-rounder
2Bhuvneshwar KumarSRH24Swing, powerplay master
3Sunil NarineKKR~15Mystery spin, economy choker
4T NatarajanSRH~15Yorker specialist, left-arm pace

Russell’s 25 wickets come alongside his explosive batting, making him the most impactful all-rounder in this fixture. His ability to smash quick runs and pick up death-overs wickets has directly contributed to several of KKR’s narrow wins over SRH. In the 2024 league match at Eden Gardens, Russell’s 25-ball 64* nearly put the game out of reach.

Bhuvneshwar’s 24 wickets were built on his trademark inswing during the powerplay. He’s consistently troubled KKR’s top order with movement and accuracy, even in matches SRH ultimately lost. His economy rate against KKR remains under 8, a testament to his reliability.

Sunil Narine’s contribution extends well beyond his ~15 wickets. His economy rate in this fixture has been outstanding, consistently choking SRH’s scoring in the middle overs. Since IPL 2024, Narine has added an explosive batting dimension, regularly opening the innings for KKR.

Best Bowling Figures in KKR vs SRH Matches

While no five-wicket haul has been taken in this fixture, several match-defining spells have shaped outcomes.

PlayerTeamFiguresYearVenue
Mitchell StarcKKR3 wickets (incl. 1st ball)IPL 2024Chennai (Final)
Bhuvneshwar KumarSRH3/23Multiple seasonsVarious
Andre RussellKKR3 wicketsMultiple seasonsVarious

Mitchell Starc’s spell in the 2024 IPL Final was the most consequential bowling performance in this rivalry. He dismissed Travis Head with the very first ball, sending shockwaves through the SRH camp. That wicket, on the sport’s biggest domestic stage, set the tone for KKR’s comprehensive victory. Context matters more than raw figures here, and this spell decided a trophy.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s best performances have come with the new ball in the first six overs. His ability to swing the ball both ways and hit the right lengths has been SRH’s most reliable weapon in this fixture, even when the rest of the attack struggles.

IPL Finals and Playoffs: The Big-Stage Battles

What truly elevates this rivalry is the playoff pedigree. KKR and SRH have met 4 times in IPL knockouts, with the results split 2–2. However, KKR have dominated the most recent high-stakes encounters.

YearMatch TypeWinnerMargin
2024IPL Final, ChennaiKKR8 wickets (SRH bowled out for 113)
2024Qualifier 1, AhmedabadKKR8 wickets
2017EliminatorKKRWon via reduced target (rain)
2018Qualifier 2SRHWon (went on to reach Final)

The 2024 season was the peak of KKR’s dominance. They completed a 3–0 sweep of SRH, beating them in the league stage, Qualifier 1, and the Final. No team in IPL history had previously beaten the same opponent three times in a single season including the Final.

SRH’s best playoff result against KKR came in 2018, when they won the Qualifier 2 en route to the Final (lost to CSK). That victory remains SRH’s lone knockout win over KKR in four attempts.

Conclusion: KKR Holds Edge Over SRH With 20 Wins

Twenty wins versus ten. An IPL Final where one team scored 113 and the other chased it in 10 overs. A revenge game with 278 runs and Klaasen’s 39-ball century. Warner’s 126 at Eden Gardens. Russell’s all-round destruction. Starc’s first-ball wicket in the Final.

This rivalry packs every emotion into its 30-match history. With both teams now in IPL 2026, KKR adding Cameron Green and Blessing Muzarabani to their lineup, while SRH bring in Liam Livingstone and have Ishan Kishan captaining for the first time, the 31st chapter is being written tonight at Eden Gardens.

The 20–10 record says KKR dominate. The recent trend says SRH are fighting back. And that tension is exactly what makes this rivalry worth following.
