Venue Details: Eden Gardens, Kolkata

All 31 men’s matches take place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which has been the home ground for the Bengal Pro T20 League since its inception in 2024.

Eden Gardens has a seating capacity of approximately 68,000, making it the largest cricket stadium in India and the second largest in the world. For a state-level T20 franchise league, playing at a venue of this stature adds a professional touch that few domestic competitions can match.

Meanwhile, the women’s matches will take place at the JU Salt Lake Campus ground, a regular venue for senior domestic cricket in West Bengal.

How Does the Bengal Pro T20 League 2026 Format Work?

The tournament structure is straightforward and mirrors the format used in Seasons 1 and 2.

League Stage (June 5 – June 19)

All 8 teams play each other once in a single round-robin format. That gives us 28 league matches over 15 days, with double-headers on most days.

Teams earn 2 points for a win, 1 point for a no-result, and 0 for a loss. Net Run Rate (NRR) acts as the tiebreaker when teams finish level on points.

Semi-Finals and Final (June 20 – June 21)

The top 4 teams on the league table qualify for the knockouts. Both semi-finals take place on the same day (June 20), and the final follows the next day (June 21).

Unlike the IPL’s Qualifier-Eliminator system, the Bengal T20 League uses a simple semi-final format. As a result, there’s no second chance for losing semi-finalists, which adds extra pressure to the knockout stage.

What’s New in Bengal Pro T20 League 2026?

Here are some new changes in Bengal Pro T20 League:

New Franchise: Novus Purulia Royals

CAB President Sourav Ganguly unveiled Novus Purulia Royals as the ninth franchise of the league ecosystem in April 2026. They replace Harbour Diamonds, who featured in the first two seasons.

Despite being newcomers, the Purulia-based franchise invested aggressively at the auction. They signed Sudip Gharami (₹9.40L), Yuvraj Keswani (₹8.60L), and U19 sensation Ravi Kumar (₹7.80L) to build a competitive core.

First-Ever Men’s Player Auction

Season 3 introduced the first dedicated men’s auction in league history. Previously, franchises built their squads through a player draft system. The shift to an auction format brought more transparency and competitive bidding, with franchises collectively spending over ₹4.5 crore across men’s and women’s squads.
