What’s New in WCPL 2026
This season brings the biggest shake-up in the tournament’s short history. Two changes stand out, and both affect how you’ll watch and follow the action.

How the WCPL 2026 Format Works
With four teams and only a round-robin to sort them, the format is refreshingly simple. Here’s how it plays out.
Each side faces the other three once, for three group games apiece. That adds up to six league matches total. No team plays anyone twice this year, unlike the double round-robin used in 2023 and 2024.
The team that finishes on top of the table after those six matches goes straight through to the final. No second chance needed. The second and third-placed teams then meet in a playoff on September 16, and the winner joins the table-topper in the title decider on September 17.

Barbados Tridents Women
Hayley Matthews returns as captain after missing the entire 2025 season with a shoulder injury, and her side will want to defend the hat-trick of titles they won as Barbados Royals in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Trinbago Knight Riders Women
TKR won the very first WCPL title back in 2022 and have finished runners-up twice since. Guyana Amazon Warriors Women
